The “backstory” of my Sunday afternoon.

A friend’s post on acceptance and alignment led me down a rabbit hole in a curious regression looking for a paper that’s always been a touchstone of my sanity but realizing that it’s not available on the web and wanting to make it so. So first I had to find the paper which turned out to not be trivial since I’d moved recently and didn’t know which box it was in. So I found the paper only to discover that my scanner, which I hadn’t used in eons, wasn’t compatible with Leopard. So I ended up doing some jiggering which involved using the scanner with the previous operating system (luckily, I had it archived) and even going back to a previous computer to do the optical character recognition part of the job. But William Arrowsmith’s introduction to his translation of Euripides play the “Heracles” is now on my computer!

I haven’t posted it on my blog yet; I still need to create an appropriate frame for it. And that requires some thought. Nor have I replied to “ellemay” either. But I feel really good about getting this paper online! It’s one of the things that’s really helped me “get through” over the last 40 years — especially in the beginning when times were very dark. Even before the advent of cats in my life; but that’s another story!
