Lost in Translation :-)

This is an entry from Dirk’s blog, of Seán’s impromptu celebration of The New Eucharist in a park in Baden-Baden. My German could be a lot better; some of these words are attempts at literal translation and are especially susceptible to word order error. They may not capture the nuance of meaning, or worse! But its imagery comes through for me and I wanted to share it.

There are some great pictures with Dirk’s post; so I encourage you to take a look there!

A New Eucharist

On our free day in Baden-Baden we met Vali in the morning with Chandra and Krishna Candra. The latter is a Hare Krishna monk, within its tradition a similar history as Seán has … Openness to other opposite (different?) spiritual directions was also there abgestraft (punished) Seán and how he is in his Community persona non grata.

[I take this to mean that Krishna Kadre, in his search for Truth and his break with tradition, has suffered; a strong parallel to Sean’s journey.]

The two had a lot to tell and I was glad to be there at this exciting interview. Eventually Seán mentioned his transformation of the Eucharist in his community. As Krishna Candra asked to learn more about it Seán spontaneously held such a celebration in the park.

There were Vollkornbrezel instead of wafers and apple juice instead of wine. Seán said his prayer and closed all. So he said e.g. of God as the great painter, the wing of the Butterflies with his finest brush stands - or of God as the great musician, who, with his ecstatic raindrops ausgedörrten (torrid) levels on the drums. Seán dedicated all these spontaneous celebration, fish, birds, Insects, mammals, humans, plants and also the rocks, the oldest child of God.

I will be supporting this morning and never forget this celebration - and I am very sure that Vali, Chandra and Krishna Candra also share this feeling.
